On Wednesday, the Karnataka government issued a show-cause notice to 9 hospitals in Bangalore including a few big private hospitals like Manipal over the death of a patient. As per the allegations made, hospitals denied providing admission and medical assistance to a patient with Coronavirus symptoms. 

As per the reports, a 52-year-old man died due to illness on Sunday after hospitals denied to provide timely medical attention in the city. The victim went to many hospitals for healthcare as he was suffering from breathlessness. However, many hospitals did not accept to treat him. He suffered breathlessness for over 24 hours. 

In the show-cause notice issued by Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Commissioner, Family of Health and Family Welfare Department, it has been said, “The [patient], aged 52 years is succumbed due to denial of admission by 18 private hospitals contacted by the said patient.”

The hospitals which have been served notices are: Fortis Hospital in Cunningham Road, Mahaveer Jain Hospital in Vasanth Nagar, Suguna Hospital in Rajajinagar, Manipal Hospital, Brindavan Hospital, Rangadore Hospital, Vikram Hospital, Sakara Hospital and Bowring Hospital.
