SC Dismisses Plea Against Bail Granted To Chidambaram

P Chidambaram is a senior Congress leader who was arrested for corruption last October and spent 105 days in Tihar jail for the receiving of funds irregularly from overseas. He has rejected all the claims placed against him. The bail had come with a few restrictions that were of making public appearances on the ongoing case, trying to intimidate the witnesses or tampering with any of the evidence related to the case.

The CBI has filed a petition about bailing out the leader but the Supreme Court’s decision taken by a bench comprising Justices remained that they have pursued the review petition and connected papers carefully and are convinced that the order of which the review has been sought doesn’t suffer from any error that it requires any reconsideration at all and therefore the petition is dismissed meaning that the leader does not have to return to jail.
