Mumbai, India – Actor-model Shefali Jariwala, famously known for the 2002 hit song ‘Kaanta Laga,’ died last Friday, June 27, at the age of 42. While initially reported as a cardiac arrest, Mumbai Police have clarified that the exact cause of death remains unclear, with a post-mortem report awaited.

Jariwala was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital by her husband, Parag Tyagi, but was declared dead on arrival. Investigators at RN Cooper Hospital, where her body was sent for post-mortem, are currently suspecting a sudden drop in blood pressure as a possible cause.

During a search of her Andheri apartment, police discovered boxes of anti-aging medicine, skin glow tablets, and vitamin supplements. Her family stated that she was taking these supplements without a doctor’s consultation, though they claimed it hadn’t affected her health.

Her husband, Parag Tyagi, informed police that Jariwala had been fasting for a Satyanarayan pooja at their residence and had even collapsed a day prior after consuming food.

Mumbai Police have registered a case of Accidental Death (ADR) and have ruled out any foul play. Jariwala was cremated on Saturday evening at Mumbai’s Oshiwara Crematorium.
